Happy new year. I’m looking forward to another year on WordPress.
Scraped paint, scribbled text, and the suggestion of map lines are combined with the outlined forms of the side of a toy house and a toy soldier alongside vestiges of sand in this piece. I wanted it to feel like a place buried in a dream.

I’m so attracted to the connections in your work. Really good one.
Thankyou Elena, I always want the viewer to be able to draw their own connections, to give out enough information for multiple readings to be made.
thanks for liking my blog — i find your “marks” fascinating. — i may ask to use one of them in the future to go with one of my blogs if you would be open
Thanks very much, I’m glad you find the marks fascinating. Yes I’d be honoured for you to use an image to go with an In Spiritual Space blog post. Please let me know when you do and I will re-blog it and share it.
Strange I feel so much sadness in an image that accompanies a happy new year post. There is beauty in the sadness nonetheless. 🙂

Thanks Nasityah, looking at the image again I suppose it is quite melancholic, and the title is perhaps quite leading too. I’m glad you find beauty in the sadness though. 🙂
Something ethereal about your work. I get the same feeling from some of the pieces as I do from Paul Klee who is one of my favorites. Very poetic work.
Thank you very much Ellen, I’m really honoured that my work gives you this feeling. Klee’s work is amazing.
Best for now, John
Gives me the feel of a map with a distant location through uncharted territory – very fitting for a new year. I also like the stylised horse head outline in the centre ( intentional or unintentional it does not matter) suggestig that he will not make the journey alone even although all our journeys are journeys into our self. Thank you for this it’s beautiful.
thank you for the compliment and your thoughtful insight windhound. I’m always interested in others interpretations and meanings found in my work. I agree about all journeys ultimately being into the self.
I hope the uncharted territory of 2013 is good for you.
love this…
thanks coco!
